My painting adventures continue! My last project — converting my daughter’s bedroom into a guest room after she moved out — is complete. Now, I’m doing the opposite — updating a bedroom for a boomerang kid who is moving back home.
Remodeling a bedroom can be a daunting task, especially if you have no idea where to start or how to do it. Like most other rooms in your home, your bedroom may start to feel outdated and boring after some time. Or, you may find yourself in a situation where you have no option but to redo your bedroom to accommodate your growing kids — or to reconfigure when they move out.
An organized mudroom gives you easy access to everything you need whenever you enter or leave your home. Even if you don’t have a mudroom per se, you can make the most of the available space near your entryways and completely transform the area. A well-thought mudroom can do a lot more than just storing coats, backpacks, and pet leashes.
The holidays are well behind us, and you’re probably focusing on all those New Year’s resolutions you made. Is one of those resolutions to reorganize your house? Or maybe you still have some decorations to put into storage, kids’ toys to put away, and/or piles of stuff to get in order. Whatever the case may be, the first few months of the year are great for reclaiming your home. You’re often stuck inside anyway due to adverse weather, so why not use that time to reorganize. Then you’ll have everything in order when spring cleaning time rolls around!
Can a new coat of paint really make a difference? Consider this scenario: You’re tired of looking at the same old living room and bathroom, but your partner doesn’t seem to mind it. You’ve been flipping through remodeling magazines, wondering how much it would cost to update things, but you both know you don’t have the budget for any major renovations and feel you’ll just have to stick with things the way they are for now.
There’s nothing that gives a home an easy and affordable makeover faster than giving it a fresh coat of interior paint. It’s an amazing way to freshen up your kitchen, make your living room cozier, and create a soothing, spa-like feel to an otherwise blah bathroom. Whether it’s repairing scrapes and dents or simply spiffing things up with a new color, an interior paint job is a wonderful way to breathe new life into a new-to-you fixer-upper or your well-loved home.
